otherkin are those who identify as partially or entirely nonhuman. fictionkin is a type of otherkin where one identifies as a fictional character. this identifying happens involuntary and can be a spiritual connection with a kintype/character, psycologial connection, unconcious coping mechanism, reincartion, parallel universes and more. for my personally it's a spiritual or psycological (or a combination) connection to the kintypes and characters on this list, for example i do not believe i am a vampire i merely am drawn too vampirism. for a more indepth explantion, more subcategories of otherkin, and more information i'd reccomend the otherkin wiki and tiger on the web's alterhumanity resources.
