Lore

Barnaby met Jack, a computer programmer and college professor, in the 1980s and they became friends. Barnaby had an unrequited crush on Jack, and Jack was so engrossed in his work that he never noticed Barnaby's feelings. But Oscar did. Jack created O-554, an entirely sentient AI. While he didn't mistreat O-554, he also never emotionally connected with him and saw him more as a scientific breakthrough than a person. Barnaby however, connected with O-554, the two of them sharing the understanding of not fitting in amongst humans and outliving them. Barnaby came up with the name Oscar for him, based on his original designation. Oscar fell in love with Barnaby despite knowing Barnaby had feelings for Jack. He felt drawn to Barnaby's kindness and how Barnaby treated him like a real living being.

When Jack fell ill and later died, he left Oscar to Barnaby in his will. As Barnaby mourned and moved on, he realised someone's always been looking out for him and loving him this whole time. Barnaby had always been fascinated by Oscar, but now he was getting to spend more time with Oscar the two of them, together, navigated their feelings, immortality, and bonded over their similar struggles with understanding humans and socials cues.

In the present day, Barnaby owns and runs a record store, though it also sells music hardware, accessories and pop culture merchandise. Before this Oscar was confined to Barnaby’s home, but now Barnaby will transport Oscar to the store so he can see more people, as well as Oscar being able to connect to Barnaby’s modern smartphone.

Personality

Barnaby gets excited very easily when he gets to talk about his special interest, music and it's physical media. He's usually friendly and cheerful, but can tired pretty easily.

Appearance

Barnaby has short black hair that sticks up at the sides, with a heart shaped ahoge, and bright blue eyes. He had quite a negative reaction to being turned into a vampire and his skin turned grey.

He feels most comfortable wearing t-shirts, especially ones of his favourite bands or albums, often layering them over long-sleeved shirts and turtle necks. He can often be seen wearing an anti-static wristband so he can touch Oscar safely whenever he wants.

Relationships

Oscar: Barnaby's partner. Oscar fell in love with Barnaby first and pined while Barnaby had an unrequited crush on Oscar's creator, Jack. After Jack's death, Oscar was left in Barnaby's care and as they spent more time together Barnaby fell in love with Oscar in return. Barnaby repairs Oscar when any of his parts break and makes sure he's still in good working order. Barnaby also sometimes has put stickers on Oscar, which Oscar pretends to hate. Oscar can come across cold, but he adores Barnaby and despite getting jealous that he can't touch him, they find ways to still be together. And Barnaby doesn't mind that Oscar has no physical humanoid body and neither feel a need try and make him any sort of other body.

Jack: Oscar's creator and Barnaby's friend. Jack was a good friend to Barnaby, but oblivious to the fact that Barnaby had a crush on him and at times viewed Oscar more as a project than a person despite Oscar being fully sentient. After his death, Barnaby reflects more on Jack and realises he'd put him on a pedestal a bit too much.

Kinks

Barnaby is almost if not entirely submissive. He enjoys when Oscar degrades him, calls him a whore, and makes fun of him for being attracted to a computer and letting his computer fuck him (consensually and not with real malice of course). Oscar loves having control over Barnaby, seeing him moaning and submissive, dumbing him down, and they both enjoy roleplaying Oscar owning Barnaby and Barnaby being desperate to please him almost like master/servant roleplay. In return Barnaby loves having Oscar control him in these ways, make him get out of his head and feel dumb. Barnaby's enjoyment of having his control taken away (in consensual sex scenes) extends to Oscar hypnotising him, playing binaurals through his speakers and spirals on his screen and using his voice to lull Barnaby into trance.

They've got a lot of toys they've bought, modified or made to let Oscar have his way with Barnaby. They have toys with USB cables they plug into Oscar and he can control the vibrations of them and wield them almost like tentacles and toys with Bluetooth that Oscar can connect to.

In terms of what Oscar can physically feel himself, he enjoys just seeing Barnaby experiencing pleasure but Barnaby really wanted Oscar to be able to feel physical pleasure. To cause Oscar physical pleasure Barnaby can open him up and play with his wires and overload his processor by opening programs and commands that use too much CPU, but they've also modified toys they can plug into Oscar that he can feel sensations through.
